DO YOU FIND IT DIFFICULT TO ACCEPT COMPLIMENTS?

Are you the type of person who would typically respond to compliments in the following ways;

Me: You are gorgeous and that dress looks good on you.

Aretha: Oh really? It's just an ordinary dress.

Me: Congratulations. Your credentials, experience and selling performance got you the job.

Bertha: Thanks. But I think, I was just lucky.

Me: Callista, that's amazing. You are such a talented lady.

Callista: It's nothing much. Anyone could have done that.

Me: I have followed your works for a while and I am confident you will make a good speaker on the subject of Women's Empowerment. I want you to speak at our next event. What do you think?

Davidetta: Me? I am not fit to speak at such a seminar. It is meant for women in the big leagues.

Me: You have so much knowledge and expertise in what you do. Kindly consider writing a book on it.

Esther: I'm not cut out for that. Writing is meant for the experts. I'm nothing close to that.

Could any of these characters be you in real-time?

If Yes, then you are probably exhibiting the tendencies of one experiencing imposterism.

Thus, some people who experience Imposterism often show their feelings of inadequacies or insecurities through their expressions.

Imposterism makes it difficult for them to accept that they are good and worth the praise people heap on them.

Let's learn more about this condition in my subsequent posts on the subject.
