IF YOU CAN READ THIS,GO FIND YOUR TEACHER AND SAY THANK YOU!

IF YOU CAN READ THIS,GO FIND YOUR TEACHER AND SAY THANK YOU!
Is that not sir Augustine?Yes,he's the one.Awww, how I wish I had seen him earlier.Come to think of it,ITS been 20yrs already. How amazed i guess he would be to know that he once taught me.Yeah,I'm sure he would....Just a few of the many reflections that came to mind when I saw my Class 1 teacher while in taxi a few days ago. He's simply an awesome teacher.
Ever since I left his class I've been taught by several others yet I've forgotten about most of them but not him.And why so?I asked myself, then it dawned on me when you knew nothing but just the national anthem song and ABCD...'A ne ne ba'.... he believed in you. When you feigned sickness during your maths class,he knew all about it yet he said, you're a bright kid, work harder.I was young then but His words had a phenomenal impact on my life.Only if he knew how powerful his words were.I recount when he once said his pride will be to see his students doing great and say; That's my student. And i guess that's the pride of all teachers.
But how many of us have gone back to appreciate them for their contribution in our lives.Like me,many have forgotten about them for a reason or two but the few that impacted our lives deserve some gratitude,I guess.Let's go find them and make them proud. And they'll be glad their profession indeed raises nation builders.
And truth is we are all teachers,we teach with our actions each day to those who look up to us.Let's not write off budding talents. We are only shapers of destinies and the least discouragement can do more harm to our students.I saw him and was ecstatic because he was an inspiration.Let's leave a legacy of gratitude for posterity.
Teachers may be tough on you sometimes but in the end its for our betterment.I am who I've become because a teacher was behind my schooling.I believe its same for you too...Reflections like these indeed impresses on me to say;If you can read this,Go find your teacher and say THANK YOU!

HAPPY DEATHDAY – BIRTHDAY BOY

HAPPY DEATHDAY – BIRTHDAY BOY
For a couple of years now, the thought of having another year being added to my age brings a mixture of feeling. For me, it’s a moment that calls for a deep introspection. One of the many reflections that take the centre stage of each session is the fact that; a birthday is more of an ‘addition - deduction’ period in life. By that, I mean, it’s a moment that one gets a year added onto his/her age and a year deducted from the total years he has to live on planet earth. Then, it dawns on me to rethink about life. I think about my life and that of those connected to me either directly or indirectly. Today, I woke up by 1:00 am to enjoy the reverie of the hour and I’m flooded with thoughts that rather set my focus on the end than the present. I reflected on so many things including: the purpose of my life, my contribution in life, my long/short-term vision, where I started from, where I am now and where I intend to get to. What I have done and what I still have to do. And on and on and on….
As I continued in this state of deep thinking, I recalled two observations in life and the lessons that under-gird them;
1. That, both old grey/brown leaves and new/green leaves can fall off the tree at any time.
2. That, both a small stone and a big stone when thrown into a pool of water create ripples.
From 1, I gathered that whether old or young, death is inevitable and as well not a respecter of persons let alone age which is just a number. And, that, I can die at any point in time. So I must live the LIFE in my life now before the evil days come.
From2, Igathered that, whether you are big/small, tall/short, black/white, rich/poor, royal/commoner, master/servant……you can still make an impact on your generation. You can create a rippling effect with your gifts and make life better for yourself and countless others. So I decided that, no matter what, I’ll contribute my widow’s mite to the betterment of posterity.
This trip into the world of my inner being further led me to reflect on the story/parable of talents in Mathew 25. I recounted how each servant had to account before his master. ’ So someday, I ‘ll also account to God what I did with the talents /gifts/knowledge and time/life that he blessed me with. Then, I must die completely EMPTY of my endowments. I must be able to say someday like Jesus and Paul did, IT IS FINISHED!’, those were the few thoughts, I mulled over. I was simply on a thinking spree.
Having drenched myself in a deep state of what seemed to be a total introspection, I came to an absolute ultimate resolution and that is to let my death motivate me for the rest of my life instead a birthday. Yes, my DEATH……! My reason being that, what I have done with my life so far as compared to what God has put in my heart as a life quest; purpose/vision and pursuit are at the extremities. I have done very little and hence have achieved very little with my potential.
I felt there is still more to do in Ghana, Africa and the world at large. There are more souls yet to be worn and more lives yet to be transformed. There are more people yet to be enlightened so they can permanently experience a fulfilled life. There are more people yet to be delivered from the scorch of poverty stricken mentality and released from the quagmire of ignorance…..etc. And I have a legacy to leave behind unborn generations. A legacy of lots of ‘lessons worth learning for life’.
And so I made a humble prayer to God; from this birthday forth, may major motivation come from the fact that, if I die today, what legacy do I leave behind? God, I believe, the world was happy when they heard the first cry I made on the day of my birth…I ask that I live a life that will make the world cry and I happy on my day of death. May my death inspire me to leave the grave yard with absolutely NOTHING and my with EVERYTHING worth the life you gave me. May I live fulfilling your purpose for creating me and through my purpose depopulate hell for your glory. And may the thought of a new birthday each year as well as my death day keep me motivated to live life to the fullest. For this and many other intensions that please thee, oh Lord, help me to accomplish. But above all Lord, teach me to number my days…….that I may apply my heart unto WISDOM! AMEN!!

YOU FAILED AND SO WHAT?

You failed and so what? You're not the first and you won't be the last.Stop the pity party and start preparing for peak performance. Its possible to fail forward. When you fall and fail,Lie not for long.Dust off and dare it once more. You can fail forward and win with wisdom from hindsight.Make it happen. The top is sure if you don't lie flat each time you fall but rise up to your feet and gear up for accomplishment. You can do it.Be determined to make it happen. The likes of Thomas Edison,Abraham Lincoln and countless others are but the few examples worth emulating.Lets pick the lessons from our past failures to better tread cautiously so we can get to the top.Decide to fail forward.Let not your failure deter you from persevering for the target.Be determined to get to your desired destination.Run with your vision, walk if you can't run, crawl if you can't walk, move a muscle if crawling becomes difficult. No matter the obstacle, persist in moving forward. That's the way to fail forward. You failed and so What? Give no excuse a chance to live idle else you die idle. Get moving and keep moving till you arrive at your desired destination.

From NO WHERE and NOW HERE!

From NO WHERE and NOW HERE!
And he said in askance and utmost awe;Is this not the same boy I used to play with since
childhood?Yeah,he's the very one whom I was moving with in Senior High School. Then how come his signature suddenly turned into an Autograph?Tell me more,Gamel?
Those were the words my high school buddy asked when I launched my first two books in 2011.He thought he knew every thing about me...He knew about my tantrums,my worries and even who had the switch to my heart buttons and knew about my heartbreak. He felt he had it all in his palms. He could figure it all out when it concerns me but he couldn't predict what my inner most desire was.He couldn't tell when God will lift me from a nobody to a somebody. From a mere scribbler to mind blowing writer. From a heartbreak to a heartwarming author. From no where to some where.
He was amazed and thought I became an overnight young achiever. What he however didnt know was that, each time i was alone I was with the real me.Unleashing the writer in me.Streching my writing muscles and revising it long enough so I could deliver my very best. He didn't know my silent prayer but as I practised my skill day and night,I asked God to not only launch my books but me as well. And so God did. That is not to say,it was all sweet and dandy. But my faith was kept alive at every inch of the journey.I virtually did everything myself just to see my dream come true.I had a lot of bruises fighting this battle all alone as a person.Yet things moved out of control.Experiencing one dissappointment or the other. But hey,the destination seemed so close to back off.And so I persisted.
Like my buddy, most youngsters feel, young achievers are just lucky but truth is,Luck is spelt DISCIPLINE+DELIGENCE.Now, I just put a full stop to my 12th book.I've spoken on several platforms.I'm doing my masters. And I just won a continental award in an essay competiton....And the list is endless.
Its indeed a long story but from NO where,I'm NOW here.

Leave HERE and Live THERE!!!

Leave HERE and Live THERE!!!
Mildred Taylor once opined;'We have no choice of what colour we're born or who our parents are or whether we're rich or poor. What we do have is some choice over what we make of our lives once we're here'
Well, here we are in a new week and my admonision is;There're somethings you can never change,so why allow them get in the way and impede you from those you can change? You need to make a new stance in life.Reposition yourself and take your stance in life this week.Until you move from where you are,you can't get to where you wish to be.Don't focus too much on the spot behind you and loose the spot you have before you.Let go off the past and its barrage so you can lay hold on the future and its blessing. Leave here(your undesirable present) and Live there(your desirable dreams/future). You're in for new experience this week.Don't let the past failures and bitterness of last week get in the way.Let go and Let God. He can make you better. The future is bright. Go for Gold.

ALL YOU HAVE IS ALL YOU NEED

ALL YOU HAVE IS ALL YOU NEED
Do something with what you have in your hands.Don't wait for what you don't have.Never focus on what you have not.Rather, focus on what you have.Decide to manage, maintain and maximize it and you'll be amazed how you can do big things with your little. In the process, you may loose some things but note this;its better to try at something and loose than to try at nothing and win nothing.Never look at what you have lost and stay inactive, rather look at what you have left and stay active. And in the end you'll see what your little can do.Moses had only a stick and that was all he needed to get the Israelites across the red sea.Peter had no silver nor gold, all he had was Jesus and that was enough to bring a turnaround in the lives of many. Not only do you have something more than a stick on the inside and outside of you,you also have Jesus and he's all you need to have all your needs met.Don't live life looking at closed doors when wide opened ones are before your very eyes.Don't enroll yourself into the saddest summary of life descriped in these three words;Could have, might have and Should have. You still have life and you still have what it takes to make life work. You have your gifts intact and unexplored to the fullest and you have your Jesus on.Don't die only to realise you never really lived.Live life to the fullest.Go for Gold. All you have is all you need.Go make it happen.
