SEEK GOD AND SEE GOLD

SEEK GOD...See Gold Seek the interest of God's Kingdom It is your way to spiritual freedom Seek also first His righteousness  And you will secure His goodness  God's is the diamond and the gold Come to God; be a part of His fold  First seek for heavenly treasures  Thirst not for earthly pleasures  For those are only here today But tomorrow are gone away  True satisfaction is found in God  The salvation of your soul is in God Seek God while He may be found  Seek before the trumpet's sound

Gamelian Quote

'You've been given a mandate and a mantle.Start living up to your mandate and Stop chasing the titles. For at the end of it all, it is what you were called to do that matters and not what you were called that matters'-Gamel Sankarl

MANTLES HAVE BATTLES

Mantles Have Battles  For every God-given mantle There is an attendant battle  Yes, there is always a score to settle Yeah, a lot in life will make you startle  Sure, you will go through some rattle Before you will ever get to your castle  Your future is bright enough to dazzle But life pressures will try to embezzle  Your joy and keep you totally bamboozled You will face a lot and feel very embattled  But such is life;it has an attendant battle  For every purpose or God-given mantle  Your victory over each and every battle Will determine your next level and title  Brace up for all of life's hustle and bustle Break barriers and build yourself a castle  Gamel Sankarl

BE STILL ...And...I'LL FILL

Be Still...And...I'll Fill  When all the noise is over And all you want is a cover  Come to me; I will be waiting  Come over and stay still Come expectant and I'll fill  Come to me; I will be waiting  To you, it may seem too slow  But at the right time, I will flow  I'll come in and change your story  I will do it all and manifest my glory  Come to me; I will be waiting  Tune in; hear my still small voice  Trust me to guide in your choice  Come to me; I will be waiting  Just be still and know I am God  Just be still and know I am God #GodlyPoem #GamelianPoetry

GO FOR LOVE

Go For Love Go where you're treated as a treasure Not where you're seen to add temperature  Go where you add to the pleasure  Not where you're seen to add pressure  Go where you really measure much  Not where you don't amount to much  Go where your heart truly leads  But Not where your heart bleeds  Go where the love is truly mutual  Not where it's a one-sided ritual  Go where you're celebrated Not where you're tolerated  Life is really too short Give it your best shot  Live life  Love life  Love!  #GamelianMusings

STORIES OF A SPEAKER 1

A couple of years ago, I got an invitation from the Ghana Chapter of the Charted Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK), to speak at Koforidua Technical University. It was their Business School's Week. And as part of the sessions, they had a day slated for Career Fair. CIM-UK being a sponsor wanted some speakers and my name came up. I spoke on 'Choosing A Temperament Suited Career'. At the event I did what I know how to do best: Speaking! And at the end of the day, I went home happy because my host was happy to have had me speak to the students. But what intrigued me was the chance to sit with one of the speakers. He is a seasoned speaker whom I had had the privilege of listening to a few times during my undergraduate days in the University of Cape Coast. As at the time I was in school, I could imagine myself doing something like that in the future but to share a stage with him was a thought too big for my young mind to fantasize over then. But the future came earlier th

Of Impromptu Speeches

Of Impromptu SPEECHES I had returned home after midnight from Kumasi. The previous day had been a hectic one after all the rounds I made on the KNUST campus. All I wanted to do was sleep the stress off. Yeah. That's all a weary soul wanted. So, I lay me down in my bed like a log; hoping that no one spoils it for me. Then the phone rang. 'Ah! I thought I did put this phone on silent mode? Didn't I?' I sure did. I even woke up and silenced my alarm at 4 am. So who broke through the silence? It was my senior, Mr Mills. He had to speak at GIMPA Business School Career Fair but for an emergency, he needed a quick replacement. Guess I was the only one he could immediately call on at 8 am to deliver a talk at 11 am. Whew! Such a senior! With sweet words, he convinced me to save the situation. I obliged. Called the lecturer to confirm my coming and showed up as promised. The Dean of  Students, Dean of the Business school and Head of Departments finished their spiels. It was

Called and Celebrated So there I sat with my colleague. We had submitted a letter earlier on and had returned to do a follow-up. We were being hopeful that we could book a meeting with the principal of the school but this receptionist wouldn't let us see her. What were we there for?  We were running a creative writing clinic for children and wanted to conduct a similar clinic in the school for their students if they so wanted. We were hopeful we had a good proposal and a meeting  with the principal would afford us the opportunity to communicate our intentions across clearly. However, this gatekeeper like several others wouldn't let us in. After a couple visits that seemed fruitless, we gave up on the idea and went off the scene. Fast forward, I went about doing my own stuff and getting better and bigger at what I knew how to do best; writing and conducting coaching sessions on creative writing. I got gigs to teach at writing workshops, got nominations for awards and got
